4 November 2026 : 7:30 PM – 9:15 PM
Admiral Jacky Fisher (1841 – 1920) was a life-long admirer of the great Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758 – 1805), victor of Trafalgar on October 21st 1805, celebrated every year with Trafalgar Day dinners all over the country; Admiral Fisher, a household name in his time, is a much lesser known figure today – but did he in fact accomplish more for the Royal Navy and the country ?
Kelvin van Hasselt compares their careers and tells the story of what Admiral Fisher achieved to bear comparison with Nelson as the most influential figure in British naval history – leaving the audience to decide.
