SUMMARY:AGM and talk by Lois Prismall -Daily life on the Home Front 1939-45
DESCRIPTION:The Group’s AGM will follow on from the talk by Lois Prismall. \nLois will talk about homes in England during the Second World War. \nMany re-enactors talk about the military side of the war but Lois concentrates on what life was like for those that stayed at home. \nLois will bring a wide variety of items that could be found in ordinary homes during the War. Most items on display are genuine and those that aren’t are made to the correct specifications of that era. \nLois encourages discussion and stories about the items on display and positively encourages people to come up and touch the display. Many of the items on display could still be found in homes of the 50’s\, 60’s and even the 70’s. \nMeet at the Sheringham Museum at the Mo \nThe Museum is on Lifeboat Plain. Please use the School Entrance towards the rear of the building. \nClick here for directions. \n7.00 for a 7.30 start.

SUMMARY:The growth of Sheringham as a resort town-Tim Groves
DESCRIPTION:Tim was a founder of Sheringham Museum back in the late 1980s. The talk will be fully illustrated. \n  \nMeet at the Sheringham Museum at the Mo \nThe museum is on Lifeboat Plain. Please use the School Entrance towards the rear of the building. \n7.00 for a 7.30 start.

SUMMARY:History of the Sheringham Shoal Windfarm-SCIRA-Susan Falch-Lovesey
DESCRIPTION:It is now 10 years since the first commercial power from Sheringham’s own windfarm came ashore. \nSince that time the Norwegian owners\, Equinor\, have acquired the adjacent Dudgeon field\, and announced that both are to be expanded. They have also taken a share in the recently announced major new Dogger Bank Windfarm project. \nSusan plans to include an update from Equinor’s consulting archaeologist on artefacts uncovered both undersea and onshore to date\, and of the procedures they employ to safeguard future developments. \nThe meeting will take place in the aptly named Windfarm Room. \nMeet at the Sheringham Museum at the Mo \nThe museum is on Lifeboat Plain. Please use the School Entrance towards the rear of the building. \n7.00 for a 7.30 start. \nImage-credit-Andrew-Saunders-Copyright-equinor-Sheringham Shoal windfarm-3061774

SUMMARY:The decline of the Glaven ports-Jon Hooton
DESCRIPTION:Following the virtual presentation Jon gave us on the rise of the Glaven estuary ports\, Jon will return in the flesh to chart their decline. \nThis talk follows the fortunes of the Glaven ports from soon after being made a Head Port in 1786 through its decline and eventual demise at the time of the First World War. It examines the effect of two Acts of Parliament\, that setting up the Blakeney Harbour Company and the 1821 Wiveton and Cley Enclosure Act. Then the topics of the type of trade the ports engaged in\, the type of ships using the port and who owned them are covered before looking at wreck and rescues\, embanking\, the coming of the railways and the final days of the port. All of this thoroughly illustrated using photographs artwork and data. It is a fascinating period to discover. \nMeet at the Sheringham Museum at the Mo \nThe museum is on Lifeboat Plain. Please use the School Entrance towards the rear of the building. \n7.00 for a 7.30 start.
