The SHG annual Christmas social event was held at the Whelk Coppers Tea Rooms in Sheringham About 25 members attended. The delicious cakes and scones were enjoyed by everyone. Neil Storey returned to give his now traditional Autumn presentation.
Neil talked about the lost coast of Norfolk. We were taken on an evocative journey along the North Norfolk Coast from Wells to Winterton.
Debbie Thompson, Theatre Director of Sheringham Little Theatre, explained the development of this much loved venue during her 20 year tenure.

This talk was a fascinating blend of genealogy and the history of Norfolk.
Rob Knee, from the National Trust, took us through the basics of genealogy.
Tim was a founder of Sheringham Museum back in the late 1980s. He is now Chairman of the Board of Directors and spends much of his time researching and writing about Sheringham’s rich social history with a favourite area being the development of the town from mid Victorian times through to the present day.
It is now 10 years since the first commercial power from Sheringham’s own windfarm came ashore. Since that time the Norwegian owners, Equinor, have acquired the adjacent Dudgeon field, and announced that both are to be expanded.
The talk covered Maud’s story from her build in 1899 through to her abandonment to a watery grave in Ranworth Broad in the 1960s. Then it continued with information about her rescue and restoration, followed by her current use by Wherry Maud Trust.
