Sheila told us about the site, at Woodgate Nursery in Aylsham that has a history that is only gradually being discovering. The first dig was in 2016 and Sheila’s presentation goes through what has uncovered and what has been happening over the period since then.
The dig is undertaken by a community archaeology group for all ages and abilities, professional and non-professionals, working alongside and learning from each other. Over 100 Friends regularly support the project and many turn up each year and throughout the year to continue the cleaning, sorting, counting and weighing ready for the following year.
