Welcome to the Sheringham History Group.
Our group meets monthly, listening to speakers on a range of historical topics, all with a bias towards Sheringham, North Norfolk or Norfolk county subjects wherever possible.
The Sheringham History Group started as part of the Preservation Society, chaired by Mike Felmingham and is responsible for the ‘Heritage Walk’ and Blue Plaques around the town. Later the group met at the original Museum in Station Road.
For the past few years , under the guidance of Hugh Bradbury, the SHG has met at the Sheringham Museum at the Mo, on the seafront.
Two books, which are now available at the museum, were published by the group. They are ‘Memories of Old Sheringham’ by John Lown and ‘Pumpkin Custard and Polish’ edited by Mary Parris. Both are priced at £3.
Information about forthcoming topics and speakers can be found on the Events page.
If you would like to try a session just come along to our next meeting. We look forward to seeing you there!
